Center of Excellence in Cardiovascular Health for South America – (CESCAS)

CESCAS is a reference in research and action to improve cardiovascular health in South America that operates in the Department of Chronic Diseases of the Institute of Clinical and Health Effectiveness (IECS), and works to close the gap between knowledge and its implementation in the community and in health services.

Our Our History

Since its creation in 2009 as one of 10 global centers of excellence, CESCAS has led research and training initiatives in cardiovascular health.

CESCAS: Population Cohort Study

It is the first scientific study with follow-up over time that allows us to know the state of cardiovascular health, and its risk factors, in inhabitants of the Southern Cone (Argentina, Chile and Uruguay).

PRISA Study

Exploring risk factors and innovative solutions for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in the Southern Cone.
