Within the framework of Respirar Bien (Breathe Well), an initiative led by the IECS (Institute of Epidemiological Surgical Sciences) that seeks to strengthen COPD care and promote key capacities in healthcare teams, the webinar “Introduction to Implementation Science” will be held. This activity is part of an international collaboration that includes institutions from Peru, Brazil, and the United Kingdom, where local experts from each country deliver an online seminar. In this first edition, the presentation will be given by Dr. Vilma Irazola and from Prof. Dr. Adolfo Rubinstein, co-directors of the Diploma in Implementation Science dictated by the IECS.
The webinar will take place on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the following times:
- 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Argentina/Brazil time)
- 9 to 10 a.m. (Peru)
- 14 to 15 pm (United Kingdom).
The activity will be in Spanish, with the option of subtitles in another language.

What is the webinar about?
This webinar offers a clear and accessible introduction to Implementation Science (IS), a field that studies how to bridge the gap between knowledge and practice. Over the course of one hour, the following topics will be covered:
- Key principles of CI.
- Why CI is fundamental to research and health systems
- Tools and conceptual frameworks that enable innovations to be transformed into sustainable impacts.
This activity is specifically designed for researchers, healthcare professionals, and decision-makers interested in implementation science. It is also suitable for professionals from various disciplines working in healthcare research, care, or management.
The following participate in the Breathe Well initiative: the Scientific University of the South in Peru, the University of São Paulo in Brazil and the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, and it is funded by the UK's National Institute of Health Research.
