From the Institute of Clinical and Healthcare Effectiveness (IECS) we celebrate being part of the Alliance for Women's Health in Argentina, an intersectoral, federal, and plural space that seeks to highlight the health system's structural debts to women and advance concrete proposals to settle them.
Driven Women in Global Health Argentina (WGH Argentina), the Alliance already has the support of key institutions such as UN Women Argentina, ProMujer, Ministry of Health of the City of Buenos Aires, Flor Foundation and Association of Women in Health, among others. It is a network under construction, open to adding voices and perspectives from the public, private, academic, and civil society sectors.
On May 28, 2025, within the framework of the Day of Action for Women's Health, a day was held that formally began a federal intersectoral working group, leadered by Women in Global Health Argentina (WGH Argentina)The meeting marked the launch of a collaborative agenda with concrete proposals to transform women's healthcare in the country.
The meeting invited reflection on the multiple challenges women face, both in their roles as leaders and healthcare professionals and as users of the system. Ensuring more equitable access requires a comprehensive understanding of the causes of illness and death that affect them and promoting greater participation of women in decision-making.
At the IECS, we believe that moving toward a more equitable health system requires strong alliances, a shared vision, and political resolve. Therefore, we add our technical and institutional commitment to this initiative, convinced that it is a key step toward gender-sensitive, rights-centered health care.
