The Chamber of Deputies declared a project from the Center for Implementation and Innovation in Health Policies (CIIPS) to be of interest.

The Argentine Chamber of Deputies declared the project “Analysis and Visualization of Gender Inequalities in Mortality in Argentina,” developed at the CIIPS of the IECS, to be of interest. The initiative was presented at the informational meeting of the Women and Diversity Committee, following an invitation from Deputy Pablo Yedlin, the project's sponsor.

The work, carried out by our researchers Adrián Santoro, Sofía Pirsch and Lucía Bartolomeu, was one of the 13 winning projects globally by Data for Health from Bloomberg Philanthropies and Vital Strategies, a program that strengthens the production and use of data for action in public health in more than 90 projects in 22 countries.

Why is this declaration of interest important?

Because it recognizes the value of a tool that makes gender gaps in mortality visible, a key input for guiding more equitable public policies. Argentina has a long tradition of generating and systematizing vital statistics, which makes our country one of the leaders in the region in this area and provides a set of extremely valuable information for decision-making in health policies.

Our project combines advanced analysis and visualization to transform data into actionable evidence. Because, in public health, data isn't just numbers: it's a tool that can transform realities and design evidence-based public policies.
