The Master's Degree in Clinical Effectiveness celebrated its 25th anniversary

On Friday, March 14, 2025, the commemorative event for the 25th anniversary of the Master's in Clinical Effectiveness (PEC) program took place. Since its creation in 1999, the program has promoted the training of professionals committed to generating and applying scientific evidence to improve health systems in Latin America.

Over these 25 years, more than 1.000 students from different countries in the region have completed the program, consolidating an active network of researchers, decision-makers, and public health professionals.

The commemorative event took place in a climate of recognition, reunion, and celebration. During the day, keynote addresses were given by the program's founding authorities, including Drs. Fernando Rubinstein and Adolfo Rubinstein, and the Dr. Vilma Irazola. Graduates from different cohorts also provided brief testimonials reflecting the academic and professional impact of the Master's program on their careers.

The celebration also included a special greeting from Dr. Earl Francis Cook, an epidemiologist at the T.H. Chan School of Public Health at Harvard Medical School, who assisted the Master's program at the beginning of the program.

In this context, the "PEC Community Alumni Network" initiative was also presented, aimed at strengthening ties between different cohorts and fostering opportunities for collaboration and professional exchange.

In closing, Dr. Andrés Pichon-Rivière, Director General of the IECS, expressed his gratitude for these years of sharing and called for a renewal of the institutional commitment to the development of excellent human resources, the strengthening of health research capacities, and the promotion of evidence-based health policies.
