El Institute of Clinical and Health Effectiveness (IECS) is calling for applications for the position of International Network & Project Manager, with full-time dedication, to support the coordination of international networks and the management of regional projects in public health.
IECS is a leading independent organization in research and technical cooperation in public health in Latin America, with extensive experience in health technology assessment, health economics and capacity building in health systems.
The selected candidate will join the IECS team and will perform a role of international coordination and project management, contributing to the implementation of two strategic initiatives led by the institution:
- Operational coordination of the INAHTA Secretariat (International Network of Agencies for Health Technology Assessment), an international network that brings together more than 50 public health technology assessment agencies in more than 30 countries.
- Management of a regional project to strengthen capacities in epidemiological analysis and epidemic preparedness, developed within the framework of the initiative CEPI – Global South Leaders in Epidemic Analytics and Response (GS LEARN) and financed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which involves 14 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- The position offers a unique opportunity to participate in the coordination of international health policy networks and high-impact regional public health projectsworking with institutions and experts from multiple countries.
Role and responsibilities
The selected person will play a role of international coordination and project management, working in close collaboration with the IECS management team and technical teams, as well as with partner institutions and international actors.
Coordination of the INAHTA Secretariat
- Lead the operational coordination of the INAHTA Secretariat.
- Provide support to the Board and network committees, including organizing meetings, preparing agendas, minutes, and monitoring work plans.
- Manage communications with member agencies and international institutional actors.
- Plan and execute the organization of the INAHTA Annual Congress and the Annual Meeting of Members.
- Coordinate network activities, including webinars, working groups, and other collaborative initiatives.
- Manage internal communications and digital tools of the network.
- Responsible for the basic financial administration of the Secretariat in coordination with the administrative teams of the IECS.
CEPI – GS LEARN Regional Project Management
- Lead the operational coordination of the regional project and its various work packages.
- Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate the preparation of technical and progress reports for funders.
- Act as a focal point between the IECS internal teams and with national and international project partners.
- Coordinate the planning and execution of training activities, workshops, mentoring, and meetings.
- Perform the administrative and budgetary management of the project in coordination with the management and finance areas.
- Maintain project documentation, including records of progress, risks, and mitigation actions.
Profile and requirements
We are looking for a candidate with experience in project management and international coordination, with the ability to interact with multiple institutions and actors in multicultural environments.
Essential requirements
- University degree in public health, social sciences, international relations, economics, project management, health sciences or other related disciplines.
- Very good level of spoken and written English (mandatory requirement).
- Domain of Spanish.
- Proven experience in project management or coordination (minimum 3–5 years).
Experience and skills valued
- Experience in international projects or multilateral networks.
- Experience in projects related to public health, research or capacity building.
- Experience in projects funded by international organizations (e.g., WHO/PAHO, World Bank, IDB, CEPI, Gates Foundation or others).
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously and work with interdisciplinary teams.
- Good communication skills, institutional coordination and teamwork.
- Knowledge of Portuguese will be valued.
