CESCAS will launch a randomized clinical trial in primary health care centers (CAPS) of the public network in several districts of the country that will seek to improve the identification and monitoring of the population with moderate and high cardiovascular risk. 
The strategy includes, on the one hand, the participation of CAPS health promoters in screening, electronic capture of information in the community, data transfer to an electronic medical record to improve follow-up guidelines, and individualized text messages to patients. patients to promote healthy lifestyles, and early consultations with the family doctor. The project will be financed by the United States National Institute of Health (NIH), through the Fogarty International Center and has the support of the REDES Program of the National Ministry of Health. Dr Tom Gaziano will be the principal investigator from the Harvard School of Public Health and the Dr. Andrea Beratarrechea (Condi) will be the co-principal investigator for IECS.
