New diplomas to transform health through evidence and technology

Innovative training with real-world impact and top-level academic support.

The Institute for Clinical and Healthcare Effectiveness (IECS) is launching two new diploma programs designed to address urgent challenges in public health: the strategic use of data to improve decisions and the effective implementation of evidence-based policies. Both are part of the IECS academic offering and are certified by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires.

La Diploma in Data Intelligence in Health for Decision-Making It is aimed at professionals seeking to incorporate digital health tools, data science, and artificial intelligence into the design of clinical interventions, healthcare management, and policymaking. The training includes modules on information technology, data analysis, predictive modeling, data ethics, and applied case studies. It is led by Dr. Alejandro López Osornio and has the academic coordination of Denise Zavala and a teaching team made up of Santiago Esteban, Cintia Cejas, Adrián Santoro, Daniel Rizzato Lede, and Martín Díaz Maffini, researchers with extensive experience in the intersection of health, data, and technological innovation.

For its part, the Diploma in Implementation Sciences: From Research to Health Policy Change addresses how to transform scientific evidence into sustainable and scalable policies and interventions. The program, led by the Dr. Vilma Irazola and Prof. Dr. Adolfo Rubinstein, also featuring the participation of professors Camila Volij and Carolina Prado. It combines theory, stakeholder analysis, planning tools, evaluation frameworks, and implementation strategies tailored to real-life contexts.

Both diplomas have a duration of 7 months, are taken in virtual modality, and include recorded classes, biweekly synchronous meetings, collaborative work, and optional in-person sessions toward the end. They are aimed at professionals in healthcare, management, research, and related fields who seek to lead change processes with concrete tools and strategic vision.
