Objective

Development and validation of a healthcare provider survey for the HRP/WHO Global Maternal and Perinatal Health Platform, a multi-country network of sentinel hospitals designed to generate regular evidence on the quality of intrapartum and early postpartum care. The platform involves data collection every three years between 2023 and 2030, with the aim of contributing to improved quality of care and strengthening research capacities in maternal and neonatal health worldwide. Within this framework, IECS was responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of the provider survey in 10 countries in Southeast Asia and the Western Pacific. The work included an exploratory literature review and cognitive interviews to guide the design, as well as the development and validation of the instrument. Subsequently, IECS led the training of the teams, the monitoring of implementation, and provided support during the administration of the survey in 75 hospitals.
