Objective

Characterize parasitic, placental and immunological factors of the host that could be associated with the mechanisms of congenital transmission of T. cruzi in an endemic region, study the characteristics of the parasite-host interaction and validate in the field innovative molecular methods for the early diagnosis of congenital Chagas.
