Civil engineer from the University of Buenos Aires and PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, he is a Plenary Professor at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (UTDT), Founding Director of the Center for Evidence-Based Policies (CEPE-Di Tella) and Principal Investigator of CONICET. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Ágora Foundation (Uruguay), CARI (Argentina) and the Editorial Board of Americas Quarterly magazine. In the past, Eduardo was Dean of the School of Government at UTDT, Senior Advisor and founding Director of the Argentina 2030 program at the Chief of Staff of Ministers of Argentina, Director of the Investment and Commercial Credit Bank (BICE), Head of Research for Latin America and Emerging Markets Strategy at Barclays Capital, Senior Financial Advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean at the World Bank, and Chief Economist and Manager of Monetary and Financial Policy at the Central Bank of Argentina, among other positions. He was also founding President of the National Production Council and President of CIPPEC. He was a visiting professor at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, at the School of Public Affairs at the LSE and at the Graduate School of Economics in Barcelona. He is a consultant to governments, multilateral organizations and international companies on macro financial and labor issues. His academic production on emerging banking and finance, monetary and exchange rate policy, and economic development ranks first among Argentine economists according to RePEc and Google Scholar.
