
Juan Carlos Vassallo
Juan Carlos Vassallo is a pediatrician, specialist in children's intensive care, master in clinical and health effectiveness, associate professor of pediatrics -IUC and Authorized Professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the UBA.
He is currently coordinator of the Education Unit and vice director of the Master of Clinical and Health Effectiveness of the IECS. Additionally, at the SAMIC "Prof. Dr. Juan P. Garrahan" Pediatric Hospital, he serves as Director of the Hospital Translational Knowledge Unit and is in charge of the Associate Directorate of Teaching and Research. He is also a member of the Research Ethics Review Committee of the same institution. He actively participates in different scientific societies at the national and international level. In addition, he holds the position of pro-secretary of the Accreditation Subcommittee of the Argentine Society of Clinical Simulation (SASIM), is a member of the Certification Council of Medical Professionals of the National Academy of Medicine and acts as a reviewer for various scientific publications.
He is Honorary Director of the Pediatric Emergency and CPR Program of the Argentine Society of Pediatrics, and Honorary Expert Consultant for Critical Pediatrics of the National Ministry of Health.
He has played prominent roles in various health and educational institutions, both nationally and internationally. For two consecutive terms, he was designated National Faculty PALS for Argentina by the American Heart Association. He held the position of Secretary of Education on the Board of Directors of the Argentine Society of Pediatrics and was also a founding member and former president of the Argentine Society of Clinical Simulation (SASIM). He was director of the specialist careers in pediatrics and pediatric intensive care at the Faculty of Medicine of the UBA, coordinator of the Garrahan Hospital Decentralized Headquarters of the Teaching Career of said university and Director of the SUMAR Program of the Ministry of Health of the Nation. He also served as Director of the University Diploma in Clinical Simulation at the National University of San Martín-Garraham Hospital. As a principal investigator, he has led multiple projects and published more than 50 papers in national and international journals. Additionally, he is the author of several books and has received numerous national and international awards in areas related to critical pediatric patient care, medical education, and clinical and health research.
