Juan Pedro Alonso

Researcher

Juan Pedro Alonso has a degree in Sociology (2003) and a doctorate in Social Sciences (2011) from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). He has served as a doctoral and postdoctoral fellow of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) at the Gino Germani Research Institute, of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the UBA.
He is currently an associate researcher in the Sociology and Demography area of ​​CONICET, a teacher of the qualitative health research course at IECS and a researcher in the Qualitative Research Unit of the same institution.
He has directed and participated in research projects in the field of health sociology, on topics such as HIV/AIDS, end-of-life care and patients' rights, among others. One of his areas of interest is research methodology in social sciences, especially qualitative research methods. As a consultant he has collaborated in research aimed at the design, implementation and evaluation of health policies.
