Santiago Esteban is a physician, graduated from Austral University, and a specialist in Family and Community Medicine from the Italian Hospital of Buenos Aires. He holds a Master of Public Health from Harvard University, with a focus on data analysis, an MBA from the University of San Andrés, and is a PhD candidate in Health Sciences, researching causal inference for decision-making.

With extensive experience in public policy management, he led the Health Information and Statistics Management Office of the Buenos Aires City Ministry of Health from 2016, where he also coordinated the COVID-19 Data Unit. In academia, he is a researcher in AI and Data Science at the CIIPS of the Institute for Clinical and Health Effectiveness (IECS). He also leads the technical strategy of the Latin American Center for Artificial Intelligence in Health (CLIAS). His work focuses on the intersection of epidemiology, public health, causal inference, and digital health, transforming transactional data into products that promote more effective, equitable, and people-centered health systems.
